The meeting of the Ministers for Nordic Co-operation took place in Åland on 11 September, and the meeting showed strong political support for work aimed at making cross-border electronic identification a reality. Improving access to the Nordic region's digital services is an important part of the removal of barriers to freedom of movement under the Nordic Freedom of Movement Plan 2025–2030, which came into force at the beginning of the year, and aims to make it easier for citizens to move, work, study and run a business in the Nordic Region.
