On 20 March, the World Day of Theatre for Children and Youth is celebrated every year. The author of this year's message is the president of ASSITEJ International, Sue Giles.

In his message, Gile reminds us that children and young people form an important part of society, yet they are often neglected. Therefore, it is necessary to promote their right to art, self-expression and participation in cultural life. The availability of theatre and performing arts depends on adults, who should actively enable children to access these essential experiences and support their development and voice.

"Art and culture for, with and from children and youth is an essential part of a broader cultural ecology. It is in this field that young minds and souls develop and feed, it is here that a demanding audience is formed and active participation in cultural life begins to get involved."
