Minister of Culture and Media dr. sc. Nina Obuljen Koržinek met with the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Adil Karimli, who is staying in Croatia with his associates. Today, at a bilateral meeting at the Ministry of Culture and Media, the ministers expressed their readiness to strengthen and intensify the dynamics of exchange in the fields of performing and visual arts, audiovisual, literary and publishing activities. The importance of encouraging the translation of national literatures into Croatian and Azerbaijani was particularly emphasized.
In their conversation, Minister Obuljen Koržinek and Minister Karimli expressed their interest in deepening bilateral cooperation in the field of audiovisual activities, as well as encouraging the holding of joint Days of Cinematography between Croatia and Azerbaijan. The ministers expressed their support for direct cooperation between artists and institutions. Minister Obuljen Koržinek particularly emphasized the digital platform e-Kultura, which provides a great contribution to the preservation and availability of Croatia's rich cultural heritage, and offered Minister Karimli the experience gained by Croatian experts in the field of digitization of Croatian heritage.
In addition to the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the delegation consisted of the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Croatia H.E. Anar Imanov, Deputy Minister Farid Jafarov, Director of the Cinematography Agency of Azerbaijan - ARKA Rashad Azizov and Head of the Department for International Cooperation Farrukh Jumayev.
The Minister of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia was joined at the meeting by the Director of the Directorate for the Protection of Cultural Heritage Tomislav Petrinec, the Director of the Directorate for International Cultural Cooperation and European Affairs Anja Jelavić, the Secretary of the Cabinet of the Minister Ana Perišić Mijić, the Head of the Service for Bilateral and Multilateral Cultural Cooperation Iva Mostarčić and the Senior Advisor in the Service for Bilateral and Multilateral Cultural Cooperation Sabina Pound.
During his official visit to the Republic of Croatia, Minister of Culture Adil Kariml and his delegation visited the National and University Library in Zagreb, where he was hosted by the director Prof. Ivanka Stričević and the Ethnographic Museum in Zagreb, whose exhibition was introduced to him by the director dr. sc. Zvjezdana Antoš. In addition, interested in Croatian results and the development of culture in the field of audiovisual activities and the music industry, the Azerbaijani delegation visited the "Kultura Nova" Foundation, the Croatian Audiovisual Center and the Office for the Export of Croatian Music (We Move Music Croatia) of the Croatian Music Union in order to exchange experiences with Croatian experts.
