We were very pleased to see a high level of attendance of our members at this month's exclusive virtual event, In Conversation with the authors of the report Culture as a Public Good: Navigating its role in policy debates. Moderated by our Executive Director, the session featured six authors from our Extended Report: Dwinita 'Tita' Larasati, Sonia Montecino, Maru Mormina, Farai Mpfunya, Pablo Raphael, and Tarisi Vunidilo. They shared valuable insights on opportunities and complexities of culture as a public good, covering perspectives on definitions of culture and heritage and the global context, as well as regional interpretations and actionable policy recommendations.
We received great feedback indicating that this session was highly relevant for our members. As a follow up, we hosted an IFACCA Member only peer-to-peer session on Thursday 7 November 2024 to further explore the effects on government agencies related to culture as a public good. This session will also provided an opportunity to discuss the implications of the UN Summit of the Future and Pact for the Future.
