Whose Creative Labor Counts? opens Salzburg Global’s four-year Cultural Futures Forum, which will examine the people, resources, institutions and systems shaping the future of culture. Beginning with the cultural workforce is a deliberate choice: before asking how culture should be financed, governed or transformed, we must ask who is able to participate in cultural life, whose contributions are valued and under what conditions creative work can be sustained.
