The African continent is experiencing recurrent conflicts that have claimed and continue to claim thousands of victims despite the sustained efforts of States. But the loss of human life is not the only consequence of these conflicts. The degradation, intentional and unintentional destruction and trafficking of the cultural heritage of this continent with its rich cultural past, which has contributed greatly to inspiring the history of humanity, is often noted.
