The fifth survey on the participation of the population in culture is initiated

Lithuanian Council for Culture, 21 October 2025 , Lithuania

For the fifth time, the Lithuanian Council for Culture is initiating a survey entitled "Residents' Participation in Culture and Satisfaction with Cultural Services".

Its aim is to determine and assess the extent of participation in culture and satisfaction with cultural services of the population and their differences between gender, age, education, income groups and place of residence. Currently, the public procurement of the services of the study "Participation of the Population in Culture and Satisfaction in Cultural Services" has been announced.

This representative survey of the country's population, initiated by the Lithuanian Council for Culture, is the only one that analyzes people's involvement, participation in cultural activities and their evaluation in such detail. Its results complement the common database of cultural statistics, as well as provide an opportunity for cultural policymakers to see a more detailed picture of the field of culture and art, to look at changes in cultural consumption, their trends throughout Lithuania and to apply more precise and effective cultural policy measures.

Such surveys have been carried out every three years since 2014. The results of this study are planned to be published in June 2026.

The Lithuanian Council for Culture continues to implement the objectives of funding, cultural development and dissemination of cultural and artistic projects, while the Monitoring and Analysis Division of the Council ensures continuous research into cultural and artistic processes influencing cultural policy.

Applications to participate in the competition are submitted electronically until 27 October 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
