On Monday, September 29, 2025, the Ministry of Tourism officially launched the National Tourism Week (SNT) at the Hotel 2 Février, on the theme: "Together for the promotion of Togolese tourism".
In his speech, the Representative of the Minister Counsellor in charge of Tourism at the Presidency welcomed this initiative, which reflects the desire of the Togolese authorities to give the tourism sector the place it deserves in the country's economic and social development strategy.
He recalled that tourism is a strategic lever for growth, a powerful tool for job creation, a factor of social cohesion and an effective vector of international influence. The launch of the SNT thus testifies to the particular attention paid to the development of this key sector.
Tourism, by enhancing the rich cultural and natural heritage of Togo, appears to be a highly productive field. The stated ambition is to make the country an attractive, competitive, open and accessible destination to Togolese as well as to visitors from the sub-region and elsewhere.
The National Tourism Week is therefore an opportunity to raise awareness among the population to "consume local tourism", to highlight the products and services developed by operators in the sector, and to strengthen Togo's brand image as a must-see destination in West Africa.
The objective is to encourage tourism stakeholders to design and propose innovative and attractive promotional offers, in order to stimulate public participation and boost local tourism.
This launch day was marked by constructive exchanges between the administration and the sector's stakeholders. Discussions focused on ways to attract more national customers, promotional offers to be developed and partnerships to be established. These reflections aim to ensure the full success of this first edition of National Tourism Week.
