Kajsa Ravin new Chair of the Board of IFACCA

Swedish Arts Council, 01 September 2025 , Sweden

Last summer, Kajsa Ravin, Director General of the Swedish Arts Council, was unanimously elected as the new Chair of the Board of the International Organisation of Cultural Authorities, IFACCA. On 1 September, she will begin her term of office and, together with IFACCA's director Magdalena Moreno Mujica, will lead the organisation's delegation to the global cultural policy conference Mondiacult in Barcelona in September.

"I am humbled by the assignment as IFACCA's Chair of the Board and honored to represent IFACCA at MONDIACULT 2025, when the world comes together to analyze and effectively act on the polycrises of our time," said Kajsa Ravin at the appointment.

The IFACCA Secretariat is now preparing to participate in UNESCO's Mondiacult Cultural Policy Conference on 29 September–1 October. The theme of the conference is cultural policy and sustainable development, and the aim is to prepare arguments for the role of culture in a new global agenda after 2030.

Kajsa Ravin has been a board member of IFACCA for more than five years.

"Kajsa Ravin has been an active member and champion of IFACCA since hosting the ninth World Summit in Stockholm in 2023, with the theme of artistic freedom. She has participated in a number of initiatives in strategic consulting and was most recently appointed to the World Summit Committee for the Board. I am very pleased with her appointment and look forward to working closely together," says Magdalena Moreno Mujica, Director of IFACCA.

IFACCA, International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies, is a global network of cultural councils, cultural authorities and other actors who promote art and culture. The organization has members from over 70 countries.
