Research Assistance

Two of IFACCA’s aims are to improve access to knowledge about best practices in public support for the arts and culture, and to consolidate the collective knowledge of arts councils and culture agencies by improving the management and sharing of information and ideas.

The Federation therefore assists members in accessing and finding information on issues relevant to them. This website is in itself a valuable resource for researching for information on arts and cultural policy. It is an archive of all ACORNS news items since the bulletin began in January 2002. It contains D’Art research topics and reports from IFACCA’s events. And it provides links to cultural policy databases and other tools useful for researching arts and cultural policies.

IFACCA has developed a number of tools to help users research information held on the IFACCA website and to navigate cultural policy information held on on other websites:

IFACCA Directory

This unique directory provides information on national arts and culture agencies around the world. From Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, the Directory contains:

D’Art - Discover-Decouvrir-Descubrir

If the arts policy topic you are interested in is not already on IFACCA’s list of topics, it may be worth asking us about using IFACCA’s D’Art program. D’Art is a unique way to uncover information on arts and cultural policy that utilises IFACCA’s unique network of arts funding agencies to help bridge the information divide. When a member is faced with a problem they think others have encountered, or if they wish to find international links and resources on a particular topic, they can simply email their query to IFACCA. We forward the query to our worldwide network asking for their assistance. An analysis of responses is sent to those who participated and posted on IFACCA’s website for all to benefit.
