Yearbook of Cultural Statistics 2009 and CULTURAbase
For the fifth consecutive year, the Ministry of Culture has published a Cultural Statistics Yearbook. The 2009 edition is published containing a selection of relevant statistical results in the cultural field, from various sources.
For the first time, the yearbook includes data on the overall impact of culture in the Spanish economy as a whole. The Ministry of Culture has developed the Cultural Statistics Yearbook 2009, with guidenece by the Statistics Division of the Technical Secretariat. It aims to facilitate understanding of the situation and development of culture in Spain, its social value and its nature as a source of wealth.
The information in this edition of the Yearbook of Cultural Statistics has been incorporated into the statistical database, CULTURAbase, available on the website of the Ministry of Culture.
The Yearbook is divided into three blocks. The former include estimates affecting various cultural sectors: employment and business, public and private financing, intellectual property, foreign trade, tourism, education and cultural habits. In the second the information is more specific sector: heritage, museums, archives, libraries, book arts, music, film and video.
