Support granted by the Arts Councils 2008
In 2008, the support for artistic activities by the Arts Council of Finland (ACF)1 was altogether € 25.3 million. The support was allocated as grants, subsidies, prizes and salaries of artist professors and regional artists. The support granted by National Art Councils2 (NAC) was € 21.2 million and by Regional Arts Councils (RAC) € 4.1 million 3. The highest shares of sup-port of National Councils went to literature (23 %) and visual art (18 %). Regional Arts Coun-cils supported mostly visual art (27 %), theatre (18 %) and music (10 %).
