Arts Council England's Work with Local Government
Alongside Arts Council England, Local Government is the most significant revenue investor in the arts in this country. Local Authority support is crucial for the funding and, in many cases, delivery of arts provision. The work of Local Authorities plays a crucial role in putting the arts at the heart of national life and in ensuring the arts fulfil their maximum value as an essential part of healthy, sustainable communities. This is an exciting time for the partnership between Arts Council England and Local Government. Our National Office has been restructured and new posts have been created that will have an important part to play in the further development of strategic partnerships. To ensure we are making the most of this opportunity, we have produced this short consultation document that outlines the current and emerging ideas of how we can best add value and offers Local Authorities the opportunity to comment on perceived gaps and priorities regarding our thoughts to date.
