Artists, Musicians and the Internet

Pew Internet & American Life Project have released a report summarising their findings from the first large-scale surveys of the internet’s impact on artists and musicians in the United States. The report is divided into 4 key sections:

  • Introduction
  • Findings from the artist callback survey
  • The musicians survey
  • What the general public believes There is also additional summary and methodolgy data included. Authored by Mary Madden, the report's chief finding was that artists and musicians have embraced the internet as a tool that helps them create, promote, and sell their work.
