The Status of the Artist
The Saskatchewan Ministerial Advisory Committee for the Department of Culture, Youth and Recreation has released a report on The Status of the Artist. The Committee on Status of the Artist (MACSA) began in September 2002. The Status of the Artist Act, passed in June of 2002, served as the foundation document for MACSA’s work. The report advises the Minister and Department on practical measures and strategies that would have real impact on the lives of artists in Saskatchewan, using the history of artists in Saskatchewan and Canada, as its context. The reports assesses the Status of the Artist legislation and makes future recommendations based on the following strategic directions:
