The State Archives Portal (PARES) of the Ministry of Culture includes 2.5 million new images
The Spanish Archives Portal (PARES), archival media platform of the Ministry of Culture, has added 2,522,400 new digitized images. This documentation has been provided by the Documentation Center of Historical Memory, the archive of the Royal Chancery of Valladolid, the General Archive of the Administration, the National Historical Archive and the Archive of the Crown of Aragon.
This new batch of documents is already part of the more than 25 million images and 6.5 million descriptive records that document the entire network of state-owned files, managed by the Ministry of Culture and disseminated in this web portal.
PARES is the result of different projects to identify, describe and document scan as part of the broadcast and digital preservation programme of the General Directorate of Books, Archives and Libraries. The technical work being undertaken by archivists in charge of treating much of the rich heritage of Documentary Heritage of Spain, with a great variety of media and document types.
