At the interface of culture and politics
A new Arts and Culture Promotion Act was introduced in Switzerland this year, representing a fresh chapter in the country's cultural policy and signifying major organisational and task-related changes in store for Pro Helvetia.
Before these changes come about, however, five young historians led by professors Jakob Tanner and Claude Hauser have retraced the story of the Swiss Arts Council from its founding to the present day.
The resulting book will be presented at the closing ceremony of the «Helvetia Park» exhibition at the Musée d'Ethnographie in Neuchâtel on 16 May. Details at www.men.ch
