Scotland Week
First Minister Alex Salmond and External Affairs Minister Michael Russell are in Brussels today aiming to strengthen economic and cultural links with European partners.
The Ministers will take part in Scotland Week in Brussels 2009, which consists of a series of events to mark St Andrew's Day, the end of the Year of Homecoming and the European Union's Year of Creativity and Innovation 2009.
The FM, who will launch the As Others See Us photographic exhibition at Scotland House, will also meet the President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso, the President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek, European Commissioner for Competition Neelie Kroes, European Commissioner for Energy Andris Piebalgs, and Minister-President of Flanders Kris Peeters.
Mr Russell will host 'European Festivals: Driving Success Through Culture' seminar and attending Midsummer at L'Arsenal, written by Scottish playwright David Greig and Ballboy singer/songwriter Gordon McIntyre, part of the Made in Scotland programme supported through the the Scottish Government's Expo Fund.
