INOV-ART program
INOV-ART is a specific Program approved within the scope of INOV – Youth Frameworks, by the Conselho de Ministros of Portugal. This program which establishes the technical and financial support granting scheme for INOV-ART Program – International internships for qualified or recognisably apt youth from Cultural or Artistic domains,” and defines it’s operation and monitoring regulations.
The program, as said before, was created to provide professional integration opportunities for qualified or specifically apt youth within the domains of Arts and Culture, in international organizations of reference connected with this sector, aiming to cover 200 youths, annually.
INOV-ART aims to open circulation and contact opportunities with experienced organizations from around the world, including the following areas:
- Visual Arts
- Performance Arts, Dance and Music
- Writing and Editing
- Film and Audiovisual
- Architecture and Restoration
- Interdisciplinary Projects
- Arts management, Creative Industries and Marketing
- Educational Services and Artistic Activities within the Educational Environment
Within the scope of these Measure goals and its defined intervention areas, the candidates may suggest placement areas beyond those referred, being INOV-ART’s support team duty to define its possible inclusion and possibility.
INOV-ART is enforced by the Direcção-Geral das Artes.

SELECTION PROCESS
The selection of candidates for INOV-ART International Internship Program occurs through phases in which the abilities, skills and potential considered essential for the effective performance and success of the internship are assessed.
The DGArtes is responsible for the selection process, which takes into account the limited number of vacancies available per edition, and occurs in phases, all of which eliminating, namely:
Phase 1: Pre-selection of Applications
Consideration of the previously determined requirements in a dual perspective:
- Candidate’s perspective: training and professional experience, foreign language fluency, IT skills, professional situation.
- Placement organisation’s perspective: previously identified profiles and supplied internship plans.
Phase 2: Selection and Recruitment
Assessment of motivation, specific skills and internship goals, namely through an interview.
Phase 3: Matching
If the selected candidate has found a placement organisation and internship plan, the process of organizing the internship is initiated.
If not, the matching process begins, by crossing over the internship plans supplied of the placement organisations with the candidates profiles that have successfully concluded the selection phase.
Effective admission to INOV-ART is based on the matching between individual and placement organisation applications, previously submitted to DGArtes. This means that the candidates and the selected organisations will only be permanently incorporated in the INOV-ART programme in case reciprocal suitability exists between profiles and internship plans.
At the end of the selection process, matching of selected candidates and placement organisations, the results will be communicated to the selected candidates via email.
