Use creativity for employment creation

The Honourable Minister of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode has called on the Creative Sector industries to use their creativity as a catalyst for creating employment and promoting national cohesion.
 
The Minister who was represented by Mr. George Ufot, Director in his Ministry made this call at a Stake Holder�s workshop in Akure, Ondo State.
 
He charged the sector to be committed to nurturing and expanding its role as a vehicle for creativity to generate social and technological innovations and identify specific objectives in its promotions.
 
 
The Minister said the sector has discovered the importance of forming creative partnership between the culture sector and other sectors such as Information Communication Technology, Research, Tourism and the Civil society which would reinforce the social and economic impact of investment on culture and
creativity in our nation. 
 
He commended the Ondo State Governor Chief Olusegun Agagu for the provision of Micro-finance and Small and Medium scale Enterprises scheme which according to him has gone a long way in empowering people at the grass roots.
 
In his address, the Governor of Ondo State, Chief Olusegun Agagu stated that his administration is committed to repositioning the state Ministry of Culture and Tourism, for the promotion of culture as a veritable tool for tourism development and youth empowerment.
 
He said his administration has also evolved a deliberate youth empowerment programme geared towards the creation of wealth and employment generation for youths in the state.
 
The two-day Stake Holder's workshop has its theme "creativity and Heritage" and is targeted at stake holders in Tourism and Culture industries.
