More visit its art galleries
The number of visitors to the country's art galleries has increased by 50 percent in 2007 compared with the year before, as evidenced by new statistics from the Cultural Council. The increase is above all as a result of increased visits from kindergartens and schools that have nearly doubled over the last year.
The interest in art and art exhibitions have increased sharply. It's extra fun to give children the opportunity to visit the art gallery and perhaps themselves may be involved and to create and paint, says Erik Åström who is an expert on Cultural Affairs.
The report Museums and Art Galleries 2007 provide data for Cultural Activities of the 216 museums and art galleries in Sweden. The statistics include, inter alia, data on collections, public activities, opening hours and admission fees.
