More visit its art galleries
The number of visitors to the country's art galleries has increased by 50 percent in 2007 compared with the year before, as evidenced by new statistics from the Cultural Council. The increase is above all as a result of increased visits from kindergartens and schools that have nearly doubled over the last year. more >

Jan Åman new member of the Cultural Council Board
The government has today appointed Jan Åman to the new member of the Cultural Council board. He replaces thus Johan Staël von Holstein, who left the Board in September. Jan Åman is executive director of the Color Factory, an art gallery in the south of Stockholm. more >
Ministry of Culture gives 408,000 euros to 30 projects of short films
The Ministry of Culture, through the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA) has granted aid amounting to 408,000 euros for 30 projects of short films in the second phase of the call for the year 2008. more >
Ministry of Culture gives more than half its budget to public institutions
The Culture Minister, Cesar Antonio Molina, today presented data from his department's budget for 2009, staffed by 922.8 million euros, 5.23 million euros more than in 2008 (0.57% increase). More than half (607.1 million) will go to public institutions including the Museum del Prado and Reina Sofia, INAEM, ICAA, and the National Library. more >
National Council on the Arts Convenes for 165th Meeting
