Arts Council England is advertising for a new national Chair
A vacancy will arise at the end of January 2009 for the national Chair of Arts Council England. A process to appoint a new Chair has commenced by the Arts Council’s sponsor, the Department for Culture Media and Sport.
The Chair’s role is to be an advocate for the arts in England, an ambassador for the Arts Council, and provide effective strategic leadership to the Arts Council. The person who the Prime Minister appoints in this role will have a demonstrable enthusiasm for, and understanding of world-class artistic excellence, and an ability to understand new art forms.
The term will initially be for four years and remuneration of £40,000 per annum is currently under review.
