Participation in the Education, Youth and Culture Council
The principal focus of the Culture section of the Council of Ministers is the adoption of a resolution regarding a European cultural agenda.
France supported the inclusion of a number of themes in the resolution of the Council and Christine Albanel was delighted to see the following priorities included in the forward workplan:
- The promotion of heritage, and of its digitalisation
- The promotion of public access to different forms of artistic and linguistic expression
- Cultural and artistic education
- The development of cultural and creative industries, including the audiovisual sector
- The development of cultural statistics and of their comparability
- The promotion and the implementation of the UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.
