The Binational Chilean and Argentinean Prize for Arts and Culture is calling for nominations

The Binational Chilean and Argentinean Prize for Arts and Culture acknowledges the professional career of an artist, performer or institution of the artistic and cultural Chilean or Argentinean milieu, whose work of art or professional activity stands out for its excellence and/or for its remarkable contribution to brotherhood, cooperation and cultural integration between both countries at a regional or national level.
Nominations must be well founded and accompanied by a biographical note about the artist, performer or institution, a description of their work of art or activity, and reviews of them written by personalities of the cultural and artistic sector of Argentina and/or Chile.
The candidacies can be nominated by individuals, institutions, and associations or self-nominated.
Citizens and foreign individuals that have lived a minimum of 3 years in either one of the countries or 3 or more years in both countries are eligible for the prize. The distinction will be granted to individuals that are of legal age, a condition that will be determined according to the internal legislation of the country where the winner of the prize lives. The institutions can be legal bodies, de facto societies or others.
The Prize consists of a commemorative medal and a diploma of honour signed by the Chilean National Council for Arts and Culture and the Argentinean Republic’s Secretariat for Culture and will be granted by both institutions.
Nominations can be delivered directly in a sealed envelope or through registered mail. The envelope should be marked “Premio Binacional Chileno Argentino de las Artes y la Cultura” and directed to the International Affairs Unit of the Chilean Council for the Ars and culture, at Plaza Sotomayor 233, city of Valparaíso. Nominations should be delivered within a period of 10 working days from the release of this announcement (2 September). The same period applies for delivering the nominations through registered mail, making sure that the postmark shows a date within the 10 day period.
The nominator should pay the shipping costs. The packages sent by certified mail with a date on the seal outside of the 10-day period or sent “to be paid” will not be opened and returned to the sender.
The results will be published in October 2007. For further information, please go to www.consejodelacultura.cl
