Sponsorship scheme getting results

The Scottish Arts Council’s New Arts Sponsorship Awards scheme appears to be getting results. Launched in April, the scheme commits the government to matching any first-time contributions from the private sector of between £1-50,000. Twenty-eight new sponsors have since contributed £510,000, triggering a further £320,000 in government payments. “To attract 28 new businesses to sponsorship of the arts is marvellous news,” said Barclay Price, director of Arts & Business Scotland, which manages the Scottish Arts Council-funded scheme. “Although business sponsorship of the arts in Scotland currently stands at around £9.4 million, there are still many businesses that have not recognised that arts sponsorship offers a cost-effective route to assist brand differentiation, corporate social responsibility objectives and staff development.” “This funding however, has been a great way of encouraging businesses with no previous experience of arts sponsorship, to get involved and reap the rewards.” For more information, CLICK HERE.
