Canadian Culture Ministers Meet
Canada's Federal, Provincial and Territorial Ministers of Culture gathered for their annual meeting in Toronto late last month. Two of the key focuses this year were developing the relationship between the cultural/heritage and tourism sectors, and the impact of new technologies on culture and cultural policy. The provincial and territorial ministers also expressed disappointment with the recent cuts in federal funding to the Museums Assistance Program and the Canada Volunteerism initiative.
