TIDF Founder Honoured
The founder of the Taiwan International Documentary Festival (TIDF), Legislator Tuoh Wang, has been presented with an TIDF Honourary Consultant Certificate by the Festival’s current Director, Jane Yu. Legislator Wang promised long-term support with TIDF, and congratulated organizers on their decision to move this year’s Festival to Taichung City. Now overseen by Taiwan’s Council for Cultural Affairs, and the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, TIDF was founded by Legislator Wang in 1998, and has grown from strength to strength. A record 700 films from both local and international filmmakers have applied to compete in this year’s Festival which will be held from 27 October until 5 November. Amongst other subjects, TIDF is this year looking to screen documentaries on young people, documentaries about South-East Asia , documentaries made using archive films, and documentaries made in a style that “challenges the conventional forms”.
