New Board for Creative Scotland
The board of Creative Scotland will be comprised of members of the Scottish Arts Council and Scottish Screen, Culture Minister Patricia Ferguson has announced. The new cultural development agency is the result of the recent merger of the two organizations. The new board will be regulated by the Office of the Commissioner for Public Appointments, with its chairman appointed via an open competition Announcing the establishment of the joint board, Ferguson declared it ‘a positive step in the development of Creative Scotland. It will give a new focus and clear leadership to the Scottish Arts Council and Scottish Screen during this time of change. It will facilitate working arrangements as the two organisations work more closely together.’ The Chief Executive of the Scottish Arts Council, Graham Berry, welcomed the announcement. ‘This is a welcome step forward in the development of Creative Scotland as an asset to the nation. Such a board will bring high quality expertise from both Scottish Arts Council and Scottish Screen to the establishment of the vision and future priorities of the new organisation.’ For more information, CLICK HERE
