Arts Lottery Funding Secured Until 2019

The Scottish Arts Council will continue to receive National Lottery ‘good cause’ funding for arts and film, sport and heritage until 2019, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport has announced. 'The continuation of lottery funding for the arts is fabulous news’, a Council spokesperson said. ‘Since the lottery began in 1994 the Scottish Arts Council has distributed over £230 million to the arts in Scotland. … Cities and towns across Scotland have been transformed with inspirational new arts buildings such as Edinburgh’s Dance Base, Dundee Contemporary arts or Glasgow’s refurbished City Halls.' 'However we have also funded hundreds of smaller projects which have had an equally important impact on local communities. Lottery funds have helped people across Scotland access and engage with a wide range of arts activity…. We look forward to supporting many more ambitious, transformational and inspirational projects in the future.' For more information, CLICK HERE
