Canada supports Aboriginal artists
The Canada Council for the Arts is introducing a new artistic program which will allow Aboriginal elders to share their artistic knowledge with their youth. The Elder/Youth Legacy pilot program are currently seeking applications, and encompasses all of the arts, not just traditional ones. Louise Profeit-Leblanc, the Council’s Aboriginal Arts Coordinator, said: “The Elder/Youth Legacy initiative is an exciting new development at Canada Council. This new component of the Aboriginal Peoples Collaborative Exchange program has been sought by Aboriginal artists and organizations to ensure succession of artistic practice and to transfer knowledge to future generations.” For more information, CLICK HERE.
