SCOTTISH ARTS COUNCIL INCREASES FUNDING
The Scottish Arts Council will be increasing its investment in dance, literature and the visual arts by 21% overall across the next two years. A 40% increase will go to each of these areas separately, with more than £1 million invested overall. The funds will be earmarked for developing organisations working in cultural diversity, those with disabilities, and supporting those that are under-represented in the arts. An additional £500,000 will be available for awards, bursaries and fellowships. Around £1.4 million will be spent on audience development and a £840,000 fund has been created to support work in various areas of Scotland. Graham Berry, Chief Executive Officer, Scottish Arts Council said: "The over-riding outcome of our recent changes is that more people, in more places throughout Scotland, will have access to the best quality and widest range of art. We are confident that by balancing access, sustainability and excellence, we have achieved that aspiration." For more information, CLICK HERE.
