Scottish Arts Council runs new initiative
The Scottish Arts Council is piloting a new scheme which offers two creative producers the chance to develop their skills and experience under the guidance of a creative producer mentorship. The scheme will be facilitated Andrew McKinnon, who will work with individuals to determine a development program appropriate to each person's skills and needs. McKinnon said: "I am delighted to have been asked to facilitate this bursary scheme. It presents an exciting opportunity for me to work with talented mid-career producers and it will give them a significant opportunity to develop their work... I think it’s a very welcome initiative." Creative Producer Bursaries is a joint scheme between the Drama and Dance departments of the Scottish Arts Council and is open to all fields of performance. Scottish Arts Council Head of Dance Anita Clark said: "Creative Producers play a crucial role in ensuring excellence in production and presentation of new work in the performing arts. We hope the bursaries will play a role in nurturing this knowledge and expertise in Scotland while drawing from other ways of working in other countries. We welcome applications from talented producers working in this field but who are keen to progress their career through such an opportunity." For more information, CLICK HERE.
