DCMS creates new cultural hub

The Department of Culture, Media and Sport in England recently launched a new website. The Creative Economy Programme has been set up in order to make the UK the world's creative hub. The website will offer information on seven issues that are key to creative productivity in the UK. The information has been drawn from peak bodies in the region. The site will investigate the coherence of Government projects, push for policy developments, and provide industry meetings and summits. Tessa Jowell MP, Secretary of State for Culture Media and Sport launched the site. She encouraged everyone to use the site, stating that "this important input will feed in directly to the Creative Economy Programme, and help shape the policy at the end of it."
