Arts Council of Wales appoints Davies as interim chair
The Arts Council of Wales can sigh a breath of relief, having unanimously decided that Geraint Talfan Davies will be the interim Chair until a replacement is found. Davies, the current chairman, did not have his position renewed late last year. His position was to run out at the end of March 2006, but the Assembly Government had not even advertised for a new chair. The Council decided that Davies would be the best person to fill the gap until the next chair can be found. They also expressed a wish that the public appointments procedure be properly followed when appointing the new chair; they will be writing to the Commissioner for Public Appointments, the Charity Commissioners and the Wales Audit Office to express their concern of the management of the appointment.
