Board created for music by French ministry

Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres, installs the Board of governors for modern music (BGMM) on Monday January 16 at 5pm. The creation of this new authority for consultations and proposals had been announced by the minister on October 7, 2005, at the time of the national Forum of the modern music (FORUMA) in Nancy. It represents his support in favour of the sector which for a long time has remained outside the interest and involvement of the government. Chaired by David Kessler, the general manager of France Culture, the BGMM is responsible to address all of the fundamental issues involved in the structuring of this sector: employment, non-professional practices, training, professional networking, creation and broadcasting. It is composed of representatives from professional organisations, local authorities, trade unions and representatives from the ministry for culture and communication.
