Arts Council of Northern Ireland Pioneers Online Grant Application

The Arts Council of Northern Ireland has announced that it is leading the way in using the internet to provide key services, by establishing an on-line application facility for those seeking arts funding. Through its ‘Support for the Individual Artists Programme’ (SIAP), artists are now able to apply online for a share of £1million in funding. The Arts Council has embraced government directives to bring as many services online as possible, in conjunction with its drive to modernise public services. The new online application system is intended to ‘make life easy’ for applicants by providing a one-stop, efficient and user-friendly service. The Arts Council is urging both emerging and established artists to take advantage of the online service and the funding opportunity represented by SIAP. The funding schemes offer a range of grants to cater for artists needs at any stage of their career; ‘from basic grants of a few hundred pounds to buy equipment and materials, to larger travel awards, international residencies and assistance with profiling work on an international platform.’ Roisin McDonagh, Arts Council Chief Executive says, “Extending opportunities for individual artists and performers to develop their work is a priority for the Arts Council. We encourage all artists, whether they have applied previously or not to approach the Arts Council. Our innovative on-line approach to funding will make it easier than ever for artists to apply.” To view an online application, CLICK HERE. For further information, CLICK HERE.
