Arts Council for Wales Loan Scheme Catches the Eye

After 23 years the Arts Council Wales has decided to re-brand its innovative interest-free Principality Collectorplan art purchasing scheme. The aim of the re-branding exercise, which includes the production of new-look Principality Collectorplan promotional and point of sale materials, is to generate greater awareness and uptake of the initiative. The present day Principality Collectorplan operates in a very different market place to the one that existed when the Arts Council of Wales first introduced the interest-free purchasing scheme at its own gallery. Today, it is an innovative scheme designed to make art buying simple while at the same time supporting new and existing artists and galleries in Wales. Through the scheme almost anyone who is in the market for purchasing art can apply for credit from a number of suppliers on the high street and Internet. Under the ‘Something caught your eye?’ heading, the new promotional materials include leaflets, posters, window stickers, dispensers and quote cards. Peter Tyndall, ACW’s Chief Executive, said, “As a result of the support from Principality Building Society, the scheme can now go much further - the number of participating galleries is increasing and more and more people can be helped to own contemporary art and craft. “In order to get this important message across, we have embarked on a total re-design of Principality Collectorplan materials which we believe is eye-catching and memorable,” he said.
