Quebec Ministry of Culture and Communication announces new plan

The Quebec Ministry of Culture and Communication has announced its new Strategic Plan which sets out the Ministry's vision for the period 2005-2008. It looks in detail at the issues, objectives and challenges, and will provide guidelines for the operation of the Ministry for Culture and Communication with regard to the general public, its customers and its partners in the coming years. The Plan focuses on three major declarations of cultural policy:

  • support of creators and creation,
  • access and participation of citizens in cultural life,
  • the assertion of the Québécois cultural identity. The Ministry has also stated that the Plan is reflective of its commitment to the people and encourages everyone to act as necessary to fulfil its mission. An effective management tool, the plans contained within the strategy are due in part to public administration modernization measures.
