Arts Council releases Grants for the Arts evaluation report
An evaluation report of the first year of the Grants for the arts funding programme will help to improve the way in which the Arts Council channels funding to artists and arts organisations. The report, commissioned by Arts Council England and conducted by Annabel Jackson Associates, looked at how well applicants and Arts Council England staff felt the programme was working, what could be done to improve processes and to what extent Grants for the arts had met its aims. The findings are informing development of the second phase of Grants for the arts, to be launched in October 2005. Grants for the arts was launched in February 2003. In the first year of the programme 7,548 applications were processed to decision and 4,355 grants were made totalling £51.1 million. To view the report (in either Word or .pdf format), CLICK HERE
