'Quick and easy' funding programme benefits artists in South Wales
Arts Council Wales has announced its latest round of lottery funding totalling almost £53,500. The money will be made available to individuals and organisation throughout South Wales through the ‘Small Grants’ funding programme, which aims to provide quick and easy access to funding of up to £5,000. Individual artists will be able to extend and develop their skills, create and show new work and reach new audiences. Organisations will work on a range of arts projects that are hoped to bring communities together in creative activities. David Newland, ACW regional director for South Wales, said: “ACW’s Small Grants programme demonstrate ACW’s commitment in developing the creative talents of artists and individuals." Newland also said the grants provide opportunities for communities to take part in high quality arts activities. The funding programme aims to: · support all forms of arts activity that will increase production of and access to the arts, · support all forms of arts activity that will encourage more people to take part in arts activities, · support training and continuing professional development in the arts.
