Colombian Culture Scholarships announced
The Colombian Culture Ministry has announced the winners of its 2004 Culture Scholarships, covering 11 projects across a diverse range of artistic fields. The 14th annual round of scholarships, whose applications were open from April 16th to May 31st this year, received 66 applications in the 5 umbrella areas designated: Literature, Music, Performance Arts, Visual Arts and Audiovisual Media. A total of $300 million was granted to the 11 successful proposals, for projects that encompass: the origins of theatre; the importance of the documentary; Colombian Amazon Music, an inventory of tubular organs in Colombia; and the literary production of Colombian authors.
