Arts Council Chief outlines vision for artistic excellence

Arts Council England (ACE) Chief Executive Peter Hewitt will outline his vision for the development of a £5.5 million national centre of excellence in music and related arts this week. Aldeburgh Productions, along with the Sage in Newcastle Gateshead, and Dartington in the South West, is one of only three recipients of investment from the ACE to develop national centres of excellence. It is estimated that around £5.5 million is needed to develop the Aldeburgh Productions project, which is being driven forward by partnerships between Arts Council England East, East of England Development Agency (EEDA), local authorities, the Jerwood Foundation, a private donor and fundraising by trusts and charities.
