Spanish Culture Ministry encourages regional literacy
The Spanish Culture Ministry has announced the three winners of a competition aimed at stimulating reading within regional Spanish communities. The competition, which has been running for two years, recognises the efforts made by regional libraries in encouraging children and young adults to read. Prize money of 15,000 Euros was awarded to the Municipality of Valle de la Serena (Badajoz) while second and third prizes of 9,000 Euros and 6,000 Euros respectively, were also awarded.
