Awards for Chilean musicians
The Chilean Ministry for Education has awarded three prizes for music, under the 'Presidente de la republica' awards scheme. Created in 1999, the prize seeks to provide incentives and spread artistic creation within the framework of Chilean culture. President Ricardo Lagos, together with Education Minister Mariana Aylwin, announced the winner of the prize in the categories of folk music, classical music and popular.
