Executive Director - North
This is an exciting time for Arts Council England with the creation of this new Area role in which you will be responsible for providing leadership for the support and development of the arts across the whole of the North of England. This is a unique opportunity to build on some enormous achievements, including The Sage Gateshead, The Lowry and Yorkshire Sculpture Park to name but a few, and to position the arts at the centre of this area’s economic and social revival.
As a member of our Executive Board reporting to our Chief Executive, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering our national policy and strategy in support of the arts. You’ll be a credible and influential leader with both the arts and wider cultural community and with other key public and private sector stakeholders. Essentially, we are looking for a first class leader who can make the arts truly accessible, in all their established and fast changing forms, to embrace our nation’s multi-culturalism and to enrich people’s lives at every level.
