Director of Drama, Guildhall School of Music and Drama

While maintaining the highest standards of teaching and performance in the Guildhall School, the Director of Drama will provide artistic and educational leadership to the Division of Drama (Acting & Technical Theatre). He or she will participate in the executive management and governance of the School and enhance its reputation both nationally and internationally. The Director of Drama will work closely with the Director of Music and the Directors of Acting and Technical Theatre, to lead the development of the School`s Production programme and to achieve a reputation of the highest level in the profession.

The successful candidate will be an accomplished theatre professional with an excellent knowledge of performing arts and the ability to represent the Guildhall School. With an ability to inspire and motivate both staff and students, he or she will provide strong strategic, academic and artistic leadership. Excellent communication skills, along with financial and personnel management experience are essential. Having knowledge of drama education and experience of working in a conservatoire or higher education institution is highly desirable.
