Cultural Development Officer (Learning and Skills)
Temporary for 18 months in the first instance
Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire (ability and willingness to travel around the district so that service delivery needs are met)
£24,402 - £26,016
37 hours per week (but will include working weekends and unsociable hours where the service requires this)
We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative individual who can be an insipirational teacher of Wakefield’s heritage and culture. You will be responsible for leading specific aspects of a formal education; learning and skills programme across our museums and heritage facilities so that schools and young people are provided with high quality and accessible cultural experiences. A key focus of your work will be delivering activity at Clarke Hall Educational Museum
You must have knowledge of the National Curriculum and how culture and heritage can contribute towards increasing access to the rich cultural heritage of the district. You will need experience in organising and delivering activities to school children, young people and teachers along with developing and delivering successful education, learning and skills projects through the use of cultural activity and experience of working in partnership with schools, teachers and other stakeholders.
