Head of Development, Pavilion

Pavilion is an international commissioning, production and research visual arts organisation based in Leeds. We make work that resonates with urgent issues of the contemporary art and cultural context. We make and present in collaboration with outstanding artists and partners, for example the National Media Museum, The Victoria and Albert Museum and the BBC. Pavilion also plays a unique role in the cultural ecology of the North of England.

This is an exciting time for Pavilion, as it builds its ambitious plans for 2010-2013. As an innovative cultural entrepreneur, the Head of Development will be a key player in the small dynamic team that visions and leads a new phase of groundbreaking and experimental visual arts production.

The successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding business development and management skills with a strong and broad track record in fundraising.

The candidate may have a visual arts background or may be new to the field. Either way, he /she will be outstandingly competent, entrepreneurial and will have a passionate and enquiring interest in contributing to the development of contemporary culture, media and visual arts, on a local, national and international level.

You will be creative, efficient, independent, energetic, tenacious and a good negotiator.

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience, please state current salary in application

Hours: 37.5 p/w

Contract: Full time. Initial 6 months, open to extension to a permanent role
