A member of the Russell Group of leading UK universities, Queen’s University Belfast is now recognised as a centre of academic excellence based in Northern Ireland, but with strong international connections, especially in the USA and Malaysia.
Queen’s now seeks to appoint an outstanding individual to the new post of Pro-Vice-Chancellor International to lead the further development and implementation of its international agenda.
Reporting to the President and Vice-Chancellor, as a member of the University’s Management Board, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor will have responsibility for the delivery of a consistent, holistic approach to the practice of internationalisation at all levels across the institution.
The successful candidate will have an internationally-recognised academic career, together with a track record of academic and resource leadership at a senior level. They will also possess a clear understanding of the opportunities and challenges of internationalisation for a Russell Group university, and will have experience of successfully developing and delivering internationalisation practice across an institution.
